This course includes 25 short 3-9 minutes videos (and 6 bonus videos) with downloadable references, Action Plans and optional Quizzes. Seven different professionals at the top of their game show you how to take advantage of the benefits of proven but revolutionary approaches to design. No new software is required. Project size is not a factor. This works on projects of all types and sizes and is also a nice framework for teams using the Progressive Design Build delivery method, but who aren’t sure how to progress to their desired cost. Lean in design means MORE design, and less rework. It frees the creative mind to explore all the options and combinations of options, continuously estimated so budget is an integral part of the design criteria. With these tools you and your team can exercise maximum creativity and finally achieve the comfortable balance between design intent and cost you’ve been fighting for.
Downloadable references include process guides, discussion guides, definitions, cluster group formation guides including purpose and operation, roles and formation discussion aid. For Big Rooms there are practical lists for setting one up, a reference for your team’s strategy discussion and a reference on Big Room meeting types.
And the Action Items will guide you step-by-step through forming and organizing your team, training them in the processes, developing the owner’s Vision, Values and Conditions of Satisfaction, drafting your “North Star” and your project Charter. You’ll have access to cost category guidance, and how to conduct Integration Events. You’ll step through a Root Cause Analysis, and there are Big Room Action Items that take you step-by-step to setting up your Big Room effectively (learning from all the mistakes others have made).
